AI Executive Order and AI Data Governance

Single platform, privacy-driven security is the future

To our colleagues in the data privacy and security space,

Over the past few months, I’ve been asked about the White House’s executive order on artificial intelligence released earlier this year and subsequent key action items, relative to the impact it had on data privacy and security management and what we do here at Secuvy. The pace at which artificial intelligence is evolving demands a proactive approach to ensure its responsible development and deployment. The executive order is designed to strike a balance between promoting innovation in cutting-edge technology companies and safeguarding national security and consumer rights. These initial steps are crucial in establishing guardrails for the trustworthy and beneficial use of AI, addressing concerns about deception and possible harm.

The use of the Defense Production Act to require leading AI developers to share safety test results with the government is a significant move toward transparency and accountability. Moreover, the involvement of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in setting standards for AI tools’ safety and security is a key aspect of ensuring responsible AI development.

The guidance provided by the Commerce Department to label and watermark AI-generated content is a noteworthy step to differentiate between authentic and AI-generated interactions, addressing concerns related to privacy, civil rights, and consumer protections.

We believe the future belongs to privacy-driven security and governance on a single platform, and that no one is better positioned than Secuvy to leverage the power of self-learning AI. We need next generation solutions to solve new-age problems of evolving data privacy and security landscape. Secuvy is on the cusp of explosive growth, fueled by a veteran team, pioneering AI-powered solutions, and backed by several of the most reputable investors in the industry. In fact, AI data governance is a cornerstone of our solution offering, particularly with the release of PI and sensitive data scrubbing for large language models, and AI data inventory & mapping along with tackling data minimization, bias and fairness issues. Soon, Secuvy will also be deploying real-time prevention & blocking of data leakage for LLM generated responses.

We’ve already been putting in the work. Secuvy’s data privacy and AI governance platform allows global enterprises to leverage self-learning AI algorithms to enable deep discovery of their data at light speed with 99% accuracy, with a depth and relevance only provided by Secuvy. As Secuvy grows across industries and geographies, we are rapidly expanding our platform to meet the needs of a dynamic market. The data intelligence provided by Secuvy’s Data Trust Platform™ at enterprise scale contributes immeasurably to customers’ ability to discover and protect sensitive data and comply with ever-evolving global privacy and security laws.

I appreciate the urgency emphasized by our executive and legislative leaders in the formulation of this executive order and follow-up deliverables. The dynamic nature of technology requires us to move swiftly, and their ambitious timeline reflects a commitment to keeping pace with technological advancements.

As the tech world navigates the implementation of these directives through 2024, Secuvy will continue to contribute to the responsible development and use of AI. We understand the importance of aligning our practices with the evolving landscape of regulations and standards.

I look forward to further discussions on how we can collectively contribute to the positive evolution of AI technology. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if there are specific areas where Secuvy can provide insights or support.

Signed,

Mike Seashols
